Assembled with new gaskets and new seals (my seal kit), and an additional coat of Permatex Anaerobic gasket maker was used on the gaskets and upper bolts. The thrust bearing (sliding member clutch) is still in very good condition and was reused. This is one of the most robust overdrives available.I understand it is good for 30,000 lbs of torque and up to 1200 Horse Power.I replaced the tail Bearing with a new SKF (Made in USA) and also replaced the front Annulus bearing with a new NKE Bearing (Made in Austria). I believe it came from a Volvo 740 series car and that it was used with the M46 gearbox.It could be used in lieu of a J-type for a TR6 gearbox, although you will not have a means to drive the Speedometer cable.so you will need another method for determining vehicle speed such as GPS ? It provides a 28 % increase when the overdrive is engaged. I'm selling this Volvo Laycock P-Type Overdrive that I rebuilt.
